Jared Klundt, PhD
I earned my PhD at BYU and then took a position as clinical faculty at BYU's Counseling and Psychological Services. In addition to my therapeutic work, my research at BYU focused on the intersection of mental health, sexuality, and religiosity across the entire undergraduate student body. The results of that research and other factors led to my departure from the LDS faith and the university. After BYU, I built Encircle Therapy from the ground up, establishing an incredible LGBTQ+ affirming mental healthcare team. In both of these previous roles, and now in private practice, my clinical goal is to help humans build authentic, meaningful lives based on their own intrinsic values. For folks familiar with therapy acronyms, my primary modalities are ACT, CBT, and FMT.
When I’m not helping others in my office, you can most often find me in my garage in the midst of interminable sanding on a woodworking project, or employing a grinder and paint to make up for my barely passable welding skills. My wife, son, and I spend our spare time sharing podcasts, entertaining friends and family, or playing fetch with the adorable storm of fur that is Pancakes, our corgi.
TL;DR: I’m an ex-Mormon therapist with over a decade of helping people navigate pain and explore their identities.
